The economic downturn following the Great Depression had a particularly severe impact on America's high-end automobile manufacturers. Packard, which had dominated the segment by selling over 50,000 cars in 1928, found itself struggling to sell even half that amount just two years later. Sales increased slightly during the early-1930s, and on August 21, 1933, Packard introduced its Eleventh Series models. While Packard no longer offered a true open-top roadster without side windows, the company did provide an attractive convertible coupe, designated body number 719 and referred to as a Coupe Roadster in the product catalog.

Restored by its second owner in the mid-1990s, this 1934 Coupe Roadster represents the classic era of Packard elegance and design. The 1101 model was offered in 10 different body configurations on a relatively short 136.25-inch wheelbase. Propelling the vehicle was a 319.2 cubic-inch, L-head straight-eight engine equipped with a Stromberg carburetor.
